Year 2007 was the birth of Gay Council. Gay as in Happy People! The Council of Cool-ness! I felt that I owe it to them to make this blog as they keep me sane in this insane world called Dubai. I owe it to them, and a few other friends who deserve a separate blog.


As I am nearing my end of stay in this country who defined my career and opened doors. I had a hard time at first, and the homesickness is unbearable but I will forever be grateful.
 To my GAY COUNCIL Family:


Henry Rabe Jr. aka Kimmy: Kimmy makes me laugh and entertained at a time which is most crucial. Beamer fondly remembered him during our Floral Pink Engagement Party as the person who brought 5 pcs of a gallon of water. Explanation: Beamer and I dont have water stock for the party so I called Kim to buy some, never had it entered my mind that he would buy too much for people who preferred tequila than juice. Ha Ha Ha! 
I appreciate the small and big things he do for me. He made me smile though we walked miles just to get hold of Beamer's package. We were lost but he still managed to find a way to make smile. He knew how much I hate walking so he kept me entertained.
I love you girl! Thank you for keeping up with my tantrums and I appreciate your loyalty. You will forever be etched on the recesses of my heart.


Amorsolo Buenviaje aka Amor aka Lyubashka Galuboy: Beamer's favorite is Amor. I personally think he is a dependable person. If you want something to be done the way you wanted it to be, you go to Amor. He is the Big Brother I never had. 
I know that we might not see eye to eye on some areas. I know that at times you dont like me and at times the feeling is mutual but you have my love. I love you because you love me and you know how much I love people who loves me. Ha Ha Ha!

Your Pork Adobo is Beamer's favorite so I know you will stay with us forever until the time I get tired of hearing from him that your Adobo is better than mine. Ha Ha Ha!

May Francisco aka Mayet: Mayet and I didnt get to spend much time together but I still considered her a friend. She will call me at wee hours just to tell me about her boy-problems. It was annoying but at the same time, its good to share your wisdom to others. 

I remembered her fondly when we were on one of PINOY parties and she decided to go home earlier just because something was flushed accidentally on my toilet bowl. That was hilarious!
I love you girl! I know you are happy with your life and I wish you joy in your life. 

Marie Cris Matias-Kennedy aka Cris: Cris was one of the first people I've met in HGRS. I was a little bit lost because of the Romanian roomate I had during that time. The bee-otch hates the fact that I take a shower and she doesnt. Plus the fact that my gay-friends knock on the window while she was sleeping! 

So, Cris adopted me for 2 weeks while her roomate was on vacation and then Lub and I decided to take-over the other room when my Korean colleague from Guest Relations resigned.

I can still remember those days. When life was a little exciting and I was always on house parties...Ha Ha Ha!

Cris used to be a talkative person. I was informed she no longer is. She is recently pregnant. She married a lad from Hawaii. I asked Beamer if we can go to Hawaii and visit her one day and its good to know that he is open to new places. So Crissy, you might see us in the near future. I love you girl! You know I do! 

Jose Vincent Villamin aka JV: Of all the GC Team, I have known JV the longest. When he was new at school he pretended to be masculine. Until he could not stand it anymore. Ha Ha Ha! 

As I have said, it is better to be disliked for who you are than to be liked for whom you are not. So there, he decided to lay down his cards and from then on, we became friends.

We had our ups and downs but he still remained one of the closest friends I have. It is because he knows that I am bitchy, he knows that I am snotty, he knows that I am grumpy, he knows I have the tendency to be a devil and yet he loves me anyway.

So, JV ~ you probably already know that I love you and you will always be a part of my life. We had great memories and not-so great, but you will forever be in my heart. I wish you happiness with your lovelife. Go gurl!

Ruvelyn Buere aka BB: I have known BB since she dated my brother. Well, that was like, ages ago. Ha Ha Ha! 

I know a lot of things about her. When she cries, its like a howling wolf in the middle of the night. When she laugh, it is annoyingly hysterical. When she giggle, it annoys the Lady Boss. Ha Ha Ha!

She doesnt drink as much as I do but I turned her into a believer. Ha Ha Ha!

She used to be a lot of things and now she has opened up to the world. A new love life means a new life to be spent with someone worthy of your love. No pun intended! I know at times you hate me at work~BELIEVE IT OR NOT its for your own good. I know at times you hate me as a roomate and hate me as a person-well, I cant do anything about that. I am the person everybody loves to hate! Oh! and I love it that way!

If we part ways, me with Beamer and you with Void, I wish you happiness and true love worthy of all that you are! I love you gurl!
 
Maria Perpetua Vicencio aka Perpie: You said the other girls at the GR Team used to tell you that I am a bee-otch! Well, guess what? I am! Big Deal! Everybody can tell you whatever they wanted to tell. I am so used with insecurity, so I know it when people stab me at the back, that means they cannot tell me in person therefore either they are scared of me or they are scared I will disown them. Either way, I hate hypocrites! Either you love me or leave me!

Anyway, even if you are annoyingly a DRAMA queen! Even if you annoy me of all your whining about life and you being a victim, even if you think that the world revolves only for you, I still love you.

You are a trooper! You know that if you enjoy ones company you can stick to them. You are stubborn and sometimes that is what's keeping you to move forward.

I know you ask more from the unseen mover of all than what you deserve, I know that you expect a lot from men and I hope in time you would realize that what defines a person is acceptance of what he or she has for the moment, and the rest will follow.

I wish you find the real love you are looking for. I hope you find whatever it is that would make you happy. And I hope someone will guide you along the way to achieve this. Have Faith, I love you, in my own special way!

Luisa Bina Rivera aka Lub:I love you sis! You know that I do! I know that even if I am a difficult person to deal with. You have been there for me, in your own special way. You are my roomate, my friend and we share the same sign. VIRGO-we are different. We are the same. 

I love the memories we had in our room, watching horror movies and getting scared! Me scaring you with my white uniform and long hair like SADAKO! You not always in the room and busy with something else.

I love you gurl! I hope we could have more time together in the Philippines when I go back for vacay. I love to go to that place where I almost smash a girls face just for cutting a queue while I am in dire need of the toilet. Ha Ha Ha!

The first person I ever saw in HGRS. Running like a headless chicken telling JV that I arrived. Knocking at my room while my roomate was sleeping. You being a bridge to a very unsignificant person. You bringing gifts from the insignificant person. You sharing artistic views. You. And I. Having a good talk about life, love and its complexities.

Thank you for the photo shoot on the window. I love that!

We may not see each other anymore. We may not be on the same path. But I hope we will cross each others path and have coffee or tea and talk about something or nothing or eveything.

I know that life has its atrocities and I am perfectly aware that we will all part ways, one way or another. But I hope we will all remember each other and what we will become. 10 years from now, we will look back and think of it as a friendship brought together by Fate. And we will still fondly remember each other with a smile etched on our faces.
